Stock harvesting of potatoes has become more common in recent years. The product is lifted and placed back on the land in adjacent rows (side deposit) or windrow (center deposit), and later loaded. The potatoes are given time to dry and risk of disease contamination is significantly reduced. Stock potato harvesting is done for both seed potatoes and ware potatoes. Quality improvement and capacity increase are the main reasons for choosing stock harvesting.
